Goal-setting is a map to success
Setting goals in life would put your focus in the right direction. Putting your plan down on paper provides an opportunity for comparison and reviews. Goals prevent you from just getting lucky or unlucky. Not that it's a bad thing to get lucky, but what if you were not to get lucky? Have a roadmap, a plan, so that you know exactly where you are going; and it is easier to ask for directions when you have an idea where you are going..and have a roadmap. You won't waste fuel and time taking all the wrong routes and turns.

Planning and setting goals
In work and in life, it is becoming increasingly important to set goals - both personal and professional. Ask yourself, what is it that you would like to achieve in life? we each have something special to offer to the world; what is it that you would like to give to your world?
Are you currently doing anything towards fulfilling those goals? Are you moving in the right direction? It is time to nurture your strengths, talents, creativity and interests. Develop a personal development plan / a personal growth chart.
Developing a personal plan
Investigate areas of your life and/or personality that could do with a little change and/or development. Where do you need to grow? What expertise do you wish to improve on or gain? What is it that you can do about those aspects of your personality that need improvement?
Do you have a hobby or an interest in a particular discipline that you would like to pursue? Are you satisfied with the direction your career is taking, or is it time to explore another career or find another job?
It is never too late to pursue something that you love. Find a way to combine your related interests - for example, if you love to write and also love the beauty industry, why not look for a job as a beauty editor for a magazine then?
Write down those goals and follow on them. Better still, get someone to hold you accountable to the goals that you set
