1. CONTROLLING A STAMMERING VOICE

=============================================

STAMMERING/STUTTERING is a communication defect that affects the organs of speech in a way that causes unsmooth articulation of words. Words can either be repeated, stopped, swallowed, broken or skipped.

In an attempt to impede their stuttering, most stutterers tend to talk a bit faster. This is however, a very bad strategy for clear articulation.

Famous personalities like Winston Churchill are said to have gained control of their stuttering by speaking slowly and 'intentionally'. Yes, stuttering is more than just a common condition, it is a famous one too… and yes, it is very much possible for a stutterer to go beyond the limitations of his/her vocal condition, to becoming a great orator.

Stammeres tend to work better with the help of a voice coach or voice trainer. The trick is always to speak slowly, with deep breaths in between.
