"Scientists have found the gene for shyness. They would have found it years ago, but it was hiding behind a couple of other genes."

~Jonathan Katz

1. Is shyness limiting you?

=============================================

If you are shy, you definitely are not alone. It is estimated that as much as 3% of the world's population could be suffering from some degree of shyness, social anxiety or social phobia.

Shy girl or shy guy may sound cute, but being shy can be very disruptive to one's quality of life and happiness. I always say, if shyness is getting in the way of progress and success, then you need help. You cannot waste your life hiding, you are cheating the world of your abilities and gifts.

3. A challenge for you

==============================================

Get out of your shell today and have small talk with a stranger or somebody you have always shied away from. Yes they may reject you, but what if they did? That just means they are unhappy about something, it has nothing to do with you. Get out and risk rejection - you may be pleasantly surprised at people's receptiveness and at your own hidden ability to socialise.

3. Quotes about shyness

==============================================

"What troubles me is the Internet and the electronic technology revolution. Shyness is fueled in part by so many people spending huge amounts of time alone, isolated on e-mail, in chat rooms, which reduces their face-to-face contact with other people."

~ Philip Zimbardo

"Shyness has a strange element of narcissism, a belief that how we look, how we perform, is truly important to other people."

~ Andre Dubus

-----------------

"I am considered shy by many, but I refuse to let shyness cripple me."

~ Sofia, in the ebook "Say It With Confidence" https://www.public-speaking-solutions.com/publicspeakingebook.html

3. Our Vision and purpose

=============================================

Here in https://www.public-speaking-solutions.com, we believe in the power of words. We believe in the absolute necessity and importance of enhanced & effective delivery of speeches to create better understanding, empowerment and information. Talk should teach, guide, heal, empower and inspire. It should not destroy, demean, lie, gossip, cheat, swear, or destroy - that kind is cheap and useless. That is our vision and that is what we stand for.
