Straight Talk, Issue #001 -- Enhancing communications!

, Can we talk?

"Talk is cheap because supply exceeds demand." Unknown

Do you believe talk is cheap? I dont believe talk is cheap at all. In fact, I believe it is very expensive. Firstly, does supply exceed demand? Physically speaking, Nope! We have more demand (two ears) and less supply (1 mouth). But boy, do we use our supply! We abuse and overuse our supplies.

Therefore, I do not completely disagree with this quotation because even though physically we demand more of it, the supply is way too much!

...................................... ......................................

But talking takes time and energy; and it can even waste time. Sometimes it can get people in trouble. It can get people to pay for what they said about others. I'm talking lawsuits - that is how expensive talk can be. It can build, heal or destroy people. That is how powerful talk can be.

It is our fault as human beings that talk is regarded is being cheap. We lie, make empty promises and give unwanted advice, without taking a moment just to open our ears and listen. We just don't know when to talk and when to listen.

In www.public-speaking-solutions.com, we believe in the power of words. We believe in the necessity of enhanced and effective delivery of speeches to create better understanding, empowerment and information. Talk should teach, guide, heal, empower and inspire. It should not destroy, demean, lie, gossip, cheat, swear, or destroy. That kind is cheap and useless.
